The Foursome (2025)

The Foursome (2025) is 20-minute film short shot produced by Pono Productions®. It was filmed in Denton, Texas in April, 2025 and premiered on July 28, 2025 at the Texas Theatre in Dallas. A short article about the event appeared in The Advocate. 

The Foursome plot is a cerebral story about four friends who regularly play cards. One game takes a deep dive into unplanned self-revelation by all four. Their pasts lead them to uncomfortable questions. Is a wife's infidelity is morally or consequentially any different from that of a husband's? Should one individual's personal standards, in every case, be used to judge another person? How deep can disagreements go before friendships rupture?

The Foursome is a thought-provoking inverted morality tale, or perhaps an anti-morality tale. It is one of the shortest stories in the book Moments: Short Stories, available on Amazon.

At the premiere for The Foursome in the historic Texas Theater in July, 2025, we recorded two videos. The first is the introduction to the film by Director KC Bailey, who explained some of the inspiration for writing and making the film. The second was a panel discussion featuring Bailey, Stephen Becker (KERA radio  producer and former film editor for The Dallas Morning News), and Jean Dorff (author and podcast host for The Dance Gem).
