Our Experience with Walla, LLC (aka MOJO)
After years of effort and substantial financial investment, the film Revenge In Kind was ready for streaming and sale by disc in 2017. To make the movie available on DVD and Blu-Ray, we chose the company Allied Vaughn. That experience has been exceptionally straightforward and professional. We receive sales data and checks on time.
For streaming on GooglePlay, iTunes, and Amazon, we chose Walla, LLC (aka MOJO), a film aggregator listed by all three streaming platforms as being a "preferred" aggregator. We assumed that this meant that the platforms have had favorable experiences with Walla and know it to be a good business firm. We had a horrible experience with Walla, LLC.
Once Walla, LLC had our film and had put it on streaming, the company became extremely difficult to deal with. It did not return phone calls or mailed inquiries about due payments for streaming Revenge In Kind, although we could clearly see some statistics on viewings that indicated monies had been earned. When we persisted in requesting payment, our email address was blocked. Walla did not return phone calls. A mailed and registered letter went unanswered. Our access to our data on their website was then removed.
Walla never provided full sales data as required by legal contract, nor did it made all payments due. As a result, we severed our relationship with Walla and continue to seek payment for past sales. Specifically, we have received no sales data for several quarters and no payments since the first quarter of 2019. We feel very ripped off. We contacted one other filmmaker using Walla, and learned that his company was having similar difficulties with payment. We hope that by making our mistake known, other film-makers will be forewarned about Walla, LLC and avoid the hassles and costs that we have encountered.
For filmmakers looking for a quality aggregator, we can recommend Bitmax highly. They have been honest, professional, and thorough. Also, our experience with FilmHub has been excellent as well.
